Evangel and the LHSAA

There are more than a few people who like to throw stones at Evangel.

This time, Evangel threw one at itself.

When the school realized an error had occurred allowing some possibly ineligible middle school basketball players to play in some blowout games, the school turned in a self report to the LHSAA.

Evangel wasn't turned in. The Eagles turned themselves in.

And it wasn't a painless thing to do either. Evangel could be looking at five losses and dropping to fourth in the standings and a possible poor draw in the playoffs.

I can't speak for other situations. And some of the things in the past (see Scrib Pipkins' transfer) do look suspicious. But in this instance, Evangel did the right thing.
