Bright future

There were three state champions from the area in the state wrestling meeting this weekend in Kenner.

Two were expected. Parkway's Joey Dillon and Kamron Johnston had won state titles in each of the two previous years. There was no great surprise when they won their respective state titles again on Saturday.

No, the bigger surprise was Benton sophomore Delanie Hall winning the state title at 189 in Division III.

Hall's winning wasn't a shock because he was the No. 2 seed. But as a sophomore, he appears to be set to follow Dillon and Johnston as three-time state champions.
