Summer hoops

The local summer league for boys and girls basketball begins next week at Huntington High School. Eight boys and eight girls teams will play together for a month.

Personally, I think this is a good idea. I know there are a lot of AAU teams out there that often take away some top players, but I think playing together as a team in the summer often helps in the winter.

Huntington, Fair Park and Evangel are three of the better boys teams in the are and all three will be participating.

It can't do anything but help those teams in the long run.
