Good positions now available

Ronnie Coker's announcement that he was retiring from Captain Shreve to go into private business means there is a plum of a job open in Shreveport.

And with Byrd coach Brian Fowler's departure earlier this month, that means there are two playoff teams in the area with job openings.

LSUS's Al Cantwell has been linked to the Byrd job.

While few names have come up for the Shreve job because of the short time since Coker's announcement, it figures to draw some high-quality candidates.

There is a good core of returning players. The school has spruced up the baseball facility. And the players expect to win.
