Yes, basketball season has already started for the lower class schools.
In case you were wondering, Zwolle is already off to a 2-0 start.
But Zwolle, a two-time defending state champion, likely won't be flirting with 40-0 this season.
The Hawks have only two starters -- Joevoskie Mitchell and Eric Cutright -- back. But they do have an impressive freshman group.
I talked to Zwolle coach Bradley McLaren today and he still thinks his team can be a state contender in February. But he also admits this is a young team developing an identity.
