Homer High School's track program was already going to be in transition after three-time state champion Demonte Willis graduated and moved on to run at Louisiana Tech.

The Pelicans were dealt another blow when all-everything Richie Casey had surgery for an ACL injury.

This is a young team that figures to get better as the season goes along.
